Henry Blond is a British portrait and figurative oil painter whose work is widely exhibited across the United States. His paintings have recently featured in both solo and group exhibitions in major art hubs including Miami, New York, and Santa Fe, and he is represented by Blond Contemporary (London, UK) and Clark Fork Gallery (Missoula, MT).
In his paintings, Blond fuses traditional techniques with a contemporary sensibility, merging an emotive modern vision with a bold impressionistic style. He seamlessly pares expression to the essentials, moving through representation to capture emotion, connection, and ultimately the essence and spirit of the subjects themselves.
His passion for working with oils is evident in his very tactile application of paint, creating a mosaic of expressive strokes that “sculpt as much as paint,” allowing his figures to organically emerge from their stark, atmospheric settings.
Born in Liverpool, England, Henry Blond’s creative journey has spanned art, music, and design. He spent more than 15 years touring internationally as a professional musician before leading a successful design business for a further decade. Today, he draws on this multi-disciplinary and rich creative background to shape a full-time career as a painter, weaving his diverse creative experiences into a singular artistic voice.
Blond currently lives and works from his studio in Montana, USA, and his work is featured in important public and private collections throughout the United States.
